David Richards read engineering at Oxford and was commissioned into the Royal Engineers in 1974, serving in Germany, Northern Ireland, Belize and Great Britain, with several tours in the Ministry of Defence, including Military Operations and as Military Assistant to an Army Board Member. He commanded 32 Armoured Engineer Regiment in Germany before promotion to Colonel and in his final Army appointment was Chief of Staff of the team implementing the UK’s new Permanent Joint Headquarters. He left the Army in 1996 to join PA Consulting Group in a senior Human Resources role. He subsequently joined Whitehead Mann, a leading UK executive search firm where he spent 13 years working on senior appointments across a wide range of industry sectors and management functions.
Since 2010 he has worked as an independent search consultant, primarily in the not-for-profit and education sectors. David is also a Trustee of Enactus, a charity promoting youth social action and entrepreneurship.”
