Captain Claire Howard studied for a Civil and Structural Engineering Masters at Newcastle University and then took a year out for extensive travel of Africa, Spain and a ski season in the Swiss Alps. Captain Howard commissioned into the Corps of Royal Engineers in December 2012 and assumed Troop Command at 22 Engineer Regiment, completing several large overseas exercises; a community engagement project in Kenya and support to UK flood relief. Continuing her knowledge of combat engineering she assigned to 3 Royal School of Military Engineering Regiment as a Troop Commander and then returned to 22 Engineer Regiment as the Intelligence Officer.
Captain Howard is currently the Adjutant at 26 Engineer Regiment. Outside of work she is a passionate skier, enjoys open water swimming, dabbles in triathlon and is a food and travel enthusiast.
